Underwater Laser Scanner U4LE

This scanner employs a laser beam designed to pass through even murky water. It thus makes it possible to view objects stereoscopically that are difficult to capture with a standard camera.
It can be used for ocean and seabed exploration, revealing the topography of the seabed (or lakebed/riverbed), as well as underwater artifacts.
There is a 2D scan mode to capture surfaces like a camera, and a line scan mode that continuously measures the target area while irradiating it with a moving laser beam.

  • Intensity of light reflected by an object is converted into a grayscale image to improve visibility.
  • Scanning of the object creates a 3D image based on distance data, while laser reflection intensity is simultaneously measured to improve object recognition.
  • Wide-angle sweep (120° horizontal, 30° vertical) is possible in 2D scan mode.
  • In line scan mode, continuous measurement is possible with a 120° horizontal sweep.
  • Absolute coordinate measurement (INS linked) is optionally available.
